Summer time cocktails are the best! and New York City is full of great bars to enjoy cocktails at this time of year. For me the perfect summer time bar in the city is either a roof top or a fab spot sitting outside enjoying a drink and the weather. We’ve been so blessed with gorgeous weather over in New York, it’s been the perfect time for us to move over from London allowing us to explore our new city in the sunshine. The bars I’m recommending we scouted them out based on our favourite drinks, so not in any particular order here are some great summer time New York bars:
The Ballfields cafe in Central Park is great for a sunny afternoon Riesling! It’s nestled in the bottom half of the park with great views of the city peaking through. It’s a small little place giving an intimate atmosphere which is what we like, a perfect spot after a stroll around the park.
Maysville in Nomad serves up the perfect Espresso Martini in New York! Whilst I gave up coffee a couple of years ago I still enjoy the odd Espresso Martini on a date night out with hubby. The long marble bar here is pretty impressive too and if you’re hungry the Japanese restaurant next door is fantastic!
Sant Ambroeus in West Village is a quaint little corner restaurant with a fab outdoor seating spot for one of their delicious cocktails. I couldn’t try out New York bars without having a Manhattan! Certainly recommend one here. This spot is picture perfect for watching the world go by.
Top of the Strand in Midtown is an awesome roof top bar. It serves up a great Gin & Tonic, the vibe is cool, fresh and hip. Music playing by the resident DJ. I recommend getting here early evening before people pour in from work.
The Black Derby is lush looking. It’s a really sophisticated bistro with outdoor seating. We stopped by and had a couple of beers here. They do a great selection of IPA’s. Worth a stop to experience its beauty!
