At this time of year we all start feeling festive, don’t we?! I love Christmas it’s my favourite holiday season partly because it’s also my birthday in December so there’s always lots of celebrating going on in our household. Having just had our first Thanksgiving since moving over to New York I’ve started our festivities earlier than I would usually back home in London. I find the quickest way to feeling festive is wearing red! I absolutely love my red coat at this time of year. Here I’ve styled it with a red beret which I picked up in H & M and my plaid blanket scarf that I got from Ilymix. My favourite way to wear red is either with black or camel. Here I’ve worn my black skinny jeans and black accessories.
As we’re now in full swing coat weather here in New York I’ve put away our jackets and got out our winter coats. Over the years I almost always shop for Winter coats in Summertime and that’s because they are cheaper then. This red duffle coat is from Hobbs and when I got it a couple of summers ago I got it 40% cheaper! It does mean getting organised and thinking about your Winter wardrobe in summer, which isn’t really what I feel like doing but I always get the best bargains that way. This summer just gone I bought this camel coat, which I’m really excited about wearing soon, and because I bought it in summer it was 35% cheaper! The retailers who tend to do this are Hobbs, Reiss and Net a Porter so if you are thinking of investing in a quality coat look at these websites during the summer months instead of paying full price for the same coat in Winter.
We kicked off our Thanksgiving weekend with a walk through Hudson River Park which is next door to us and watched the sunset, the perfect outing for an all red Winter look.
Here I’ve shared some of my favourite red coats this season for you to browse.
