For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you’ll know we recently welcomed our little boy Louis to the world! It’s been such an amazing experience. I’ve been tucked up in our apartment enjoying snuggles with him. Now I am slowly getting into a routine and getting back to the real world!
Decorating our home ready to enjoy the festive season and creating a festive tablescape is one of my favourite things to do at this time of year. I’m a very homely person. Spending time at home with Steve and now Louis is my all time favourite thing to do. Steve and I enjoy cooking and researching recipes. For me, part of enjoying a good home cooked meal at home is having a welcoming decorated table too.
Quite a few of the pieces here we’ve collected over the years. Like our dinner and cutlery set which we got as wedding gifts. I always use these on special occasions like birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas to pull together our Festive Tablescape. This year for Thanksgiving we added a few new things because neither Steve or I have typically celebrated Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving as a tradition. Taking time out to be thankful for the things in my life. We’ll certainly be taking the tradition with us where ever we may end up.
Festive Tablescape Themes
Before I start planning pulling together a festive tablescape I decide on a theme. For example for Thanksgiving this year, as it partly represents celebrating food after the harvest season I wanted the theme to represent the harvest time. Including colours and decoration. I’ve linked the pieces below. The red leaf tablecloth is really old from John Lewis and no longer available. I’ve linked a similar one here.
Wow, I love both of these festive decorations.
I hope you will have great Holidays and enjoy the time with your family and especailly cute Louis :-*
Hugs,
