Cape Cod was a brilliant destination for our summer holiday and babymoon. After lots of indecision about where to go. We decided that as I was 31 weeks pregnant we’d go somewhere we could drive too. For me, the thought of getting on a plane so heavily pregnant just didn’t appeal.
We hadn’t left New York since we’d moved to the states just over a year before. Driving through all the towns along the way and getting out of the city was great fun
We stayed in a holiday house in Mashpee. In a community called New Seabury, which had restaurants bars and activities. The house had a pool, which to be honest is where I spent a LOT of my time! Being 31 weeks pregnant I was so heavy and swollen a lot of the time, it felt so good to be in the water.
Places to Eat In Cape Cod
Steve and I are big foodies. When on holiday we’re always looking out for great places to eat. Sourcing out local places to buy fresh produce. After discovering a great fishmonger and butcher. We spent a lot of time cooking at home on the BBQ and enjoying the pool outdoors.
When we did eat out these were some of our favorite places.
Beaches To Visit
There are a ton of beaches around the Cape. All with a different vibe. Here are our favorites.
Chatham Beach
The Boardwalk Beach at Sandwhich
Sandy Neck Beach at Barnstable for sunset BBQ’s
Beach Boardwalk at Sandwhich
Towns To Explore
We managed to visit most if not all the towns on the cape. Driving and exploring the different towns in Cape Cod was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Our favorites were Yarmouth, Barnstable, Chatham.
Lighthouses To Visit
No trip to Cape Cod is complete without visiting the lighthouses!
Highland Lighthouse
Nauset Lighthouse
We had a brilliant time exploring the Cape. We would definitely recommend it. For the holiday outfits that I wore. I shared them in a post here.
